Celebrating February, the Month of Love

This week we welcomed February, the month of love. Let someone you care about know how you feel with our Sharing Heart Series Note Cards. This month we are introducing our newest addition “Joyful Heart.” With every Note Card Gift Set, we will include this new card as a thank you. And with that, I am excited to announce that we have partnered with another fantastic organization. I was introduced to MAIA about two years ago through my friend Julie Hull. Julie has spearheaded the fundraising for this wonderful organization, which is the first female indigenous-led secondary school in Central America. She even organized a four-day trek on the mountains in Guatemala for a few of us to experience a part of Central America and to visit the school. It was an amazing experience, especially getting to meet a few of the young ladies benefiting from this incredible school.

MAIA unlocks and maximizes the potential of young women to lead transformational change. We believe the world needs empowered women with the knowledge and resources to live choice-filled lives, so they can in turn lead their families and communities out of poverty and provide sustainable local solutions to global challenges.
The MAIA Impact School is the first female indigenous-led secondary school in Central America that offers a holistic education focused equally on academics, culture and identity, socioemotional development, and family engagement. We call our students “Girl Pioneers” because they are blazing a new trajectory towards prosperity and equal opportunity. We currently have 239 Girl Pioneers enrolled in grades 7-11, and each year we welcome a new class of about 50 future leaders to the school.
